Hey guys I am going to be back in eugene around the 15 or 16 and was seeing if anybody was up for a trail run. I have talked to Brokenparts, Dogboy2, and Portfj62 just seeing if you guys might be up for a run and anybody else that wants to come along. I dont know an exact date yet so lets figure something out that works for everybody.

Sounds good I still have to put my transmission back together and I am hoping to get that done around the 14 or 15 so maybe like 17 or something that sunday

hmm, I don't wheel on sundays unless it is local. But no biggie, let me know what you guys decide and I may or may not be able to come.

I guess brokenparts goes out of portland I think to the tillamook forest I dont really know any places that havent already been blocked around eugene. We could go to the coast that would be fun.

florence

we should make a nice trip to florence.... the sands always fun and we could go up the mountain side just to mess around in the woods.
but if your going to TSF i would love to but i cant make it just yet(money issues!) ill ask my buddy in eugene where we can go uo there.

what about somewhere a little more south like McGrew trail in grants pass?

The McGrew might have snow on it...
If I had the time available, I'd be there. Happy Wheelin'!

My wife and I just relocated to the Medford area and might be down for some local wheeling....

Making tamales on the 17th. If a McGrew run is in the cards there is no way I could pass that up being so close, I have made snow runs up there before and have stories to tell about that. The coast sounds fun as well but not sure if I could swing that one. I will keep an eye on this post to see what evolves.

With McGrew at about 3-3500 feet, it probably isn't an option with the rain (snow) every day this week. Not sure where the freezing level is. I am down for something on Sunday and of the valley areas know Trask and TSF the best. Trask is iffy due to continued logging and different reports of gate closures.

If you can get a couple OT4x4 guys to go (4rnrRick), there's also the Bohemia mine/Noonday area just east of Cottage Grove. Tons of places to go, but it goes through private mine claims and the miners only want OT guys leading because they've come to know them. Very cool country.

There is a pretty fun web of trails above Detroit, and I can lead that. Everything is up there- trails, rock crawls, snow.. and a few lakes to build fires next to.

I need an excuse to get a couple things fixed on the 45 this week, so pick a date and place. :D

Going in near the lakes would be sweet i think and play around on some rocks since there isnt to much of that around here. I havent heard anything from were my transmission is yet but I am hoping to have it done before sunday.

hey daner you just moved to medford? where at? and what are you driving

I've got a (very) rusty champagne 89 FJ62, and I'm laid off until the end of March so am always looking for an excuse to get out -Duane

So do you want to champion this run out of here or the Cascade Cruiser's events forum?

I am checking on snow levels which will determine how far we can get. The end of the first part of the powerline trail is at 3500ft. Fish Lake is at 4200 ft and there are a couple ways to get there- the trail or the paved but probably snowed over road.

OTOH Brown's Camp is only at 1500 ft and will head up into as much snow as you want. The trails at Trask are more about 2000 ft. Sand Lake and Florence are at 0 feet. :D
