...I took the FJ60 to a muffler shop and the guy confirmed what I dreaded....seems like the exhaust leak I've been chasing is coming from somewhere on top, towards the middle of the intake/exhaust manifold.
This is AFTER doing the gasket job. I have a feeling that the shop that machined the manifold didn't do it as "one" piece, but rather took it apart then surfaced it. Not what I told them to do.
Luckily, I got a used, good condition manifold from Frank (Manuchao) and unless it's something obvious as I take it apart(like a loose nut) I'm gonna slap that one on.
I was kind of feeling down as I left, but then out of nowhere, I see a beige colored FJ62 making a turn facing me and the guy waved...that gave me a much needed boost as that's my first official wave.
I might have to ask for some help this time around as it's a very time consuming deal to do this by oneself as I have been doing.
Most likely next week is when I'll attempt at finally fixing this....
