Pilkington is an OEM supplier for most (if not all) of the major auto manufacturers.

I appreciate everyone’s feedback. I looked the windshield over, and it seems like a good install. I can post some pics later.

Thanks again, everyone. ✊

Here are some pics. Not sure they’re the best.

I got the Fuyao on my last replacement, works great. My first replacement was Pilkington and no issues with that either, though the wiper defrost was poor. I did use OEM moldings.

With windshields, it's 90% about the installer and 10% the brand of glass. Find a good 'mom & pop' type glass shop with a long track record. Avoid the Safelites and such. In my case, they didn't take insurance so I got a check from State Farm and paid a bit more for my glass guy.

I see molding not meeting well in a couple places. On my ‘17, the original molding meets at joints perfectly. I do now wonder about install quality. Be sure you regularly check for water inside at both A pillars, behind the dash, and in the HVAC filter. (Put the system in RECIRC before you check the filter.). Others with a replaced windshield will know more about the molding.

Would you explain where it doesn’t look good?

You screwed up by not buying land cruiser sooner. No used car is perfect, each one will have slight issues. The windshields on land cruiser are soo huge they are notorious for chipping/cracking. Replacing it is good generally and even if its wrong you can spend a bit later to replace it (eventually they break over and over, unless you put the layer thats prevents breaking of glass). Dont sweat it, these are getting harder and harder to find pristine examples. They are BRUISERS meant to be used/driven, military grade and toyota/lexus flagship precision.

The molding gap is slightly bigger, it has been removed/replaced but may be sealed properly, just the molding not tightly popped in. It can be slightly adjusted by auto glass company. best to drive over to one now while open to see if they can improve it for $20

Do you think ordering new molding from the dealer is the best thing? Am I missing a piece at the top of the windshield? I thought I saw a photo online that there was a piece.

Thanks for replying.

I’m going to order new cowl molding pieces to fix gap at bottom.

I need to figure out if I’m missing a piece at the top of the windshield.

Hopefully, rivets were used when doing this install, and that it was done correctly.
