So we are on a water supply in the country, but we used to be on a well. The well house and everything are still there. The people before us said they never even tried to see if it worked.

I know @Hojack is well guru here. Any thoughts or just run away And burn it.

ideally I would like to use this for tree/lawn/garden watering and possibly animal/livestock if the quality is good enough.

I don’t know much about this stuff but I’m learning and researching. Always ask mud.

Looks like a fun project.
If it was me, I'd check the pump to see if it turns.
see if you can make a schematic of the piping, valves and switches, and work out the sequence to water to come out the spigot.
figure out which way the pump turns
remove the pulley and attach a drill to the shaft.
Primp the pump and see if you can get something out of the well,
Then worry about electric, etc.
And dont tell anyone you have this well or someone will want to inspect it/tax it/ regulate it.

Not saying anything to anyone. This is an old farm house and they don't need to know about the well pump! lol
