Pretty new to welding. I have just a cheapie HF 110v mig I inherited from my dad but it’s S you can imagine, not very good.

I found this just up the road from me at a garage sale.

It’s setup for 3 phase 460 at the moment, but you can switch single phase 230.

I got it for $50. He said if it doesn’t work, bring it back. Seems fair to me.

It needs new leads so what is everyone going with or buying from? I don’t need super long cables.

Already have a nice auto dimming hood.


Any other must haves?
 
does look retro all right, but dang that is some current there for the apparent size...

What kind of welding are you looking to perform? That is a Constant Current machine, so you aren't going to be doing any Constant Voltage MIG welding with it. You'd need a separate wire feeder to do so anyhow. Do you know how to stick weld (SMAW)?
