Thanks Vic for telling me about this form. I'm a proud owner of a 1969 FJ40. All original. Does anyone have good recommendations for a mechanic in Knoxville that knows FJ40's?

Welcome aboard John. Come on in the water is nice and warm!

Hello fellow cruisers, name is Jim Webb and I reside here in Knoxville. My cruiser is a just completed 1977 FJ40 complete rebuild frame off restoration. This will be my 5th FJ40, always wanted to do a ground up build, keeping is original. Frame was acid dipped, sealed then pained with POR, body was chemically stripped and sealed, no bondo, repainted with the original single stage Freeborn Red. Engine, trans, axels, transfer all rebuilt. Put back together with stainless nuts and bolts, replaced all seals with oem. To make it a better driver I added center locking arm rest, power steering, rear disc, fj80 brake reserve, Vintage air, distributor, and a winch but kept all of the oem part to add back later if desired. Running 33's with a 4 inch lift, Rough Country, with Old Emu front steering stabilizer. Went back with all oem lights, badges and miscellaneous part. Surprised how many new old stock parts are still out there for the FJ40. Anyway look forward to meeting everyone and joining the group.
Plan to be at Cars and Coffee on the 25th at West Town mall, hope to see more cruisers this time.

Awesome looking 40 and welcome to the club site

Great looking 40! Welcome!

That's a fantastic looking rig! Never ever hurts to have more eye candy!!!!

Beautiful truck Jim! I can't wait to see it in person.

What's up, guys. My name is Ron, and I'm in Memphis, TN. I have an 06 LX470 that I'm working on. Just giving a shout out to see if you guys ever put together rides on the other end of our state.

Let the Bluff a City guys know if you'd be interested in a state-wide Cruiser ride...

I like the idea, maybe meet somewhere in the middle of the state.

Hello guys. My name is Mike and I have a stock 1997 FZJ80. The truck was purchased as a replacement to my 2007 FJ Cruiser that was totaled whole offroad. I heard about this forum from a member named Ray who left an Appalachian Cruisers card on my 80 while it's sitting over at Rock Your 4x4 in Knoxville waiting for Jason to do some work to it. I currently live in NY, but I'm moving to the Knoxville area in a few months. It will be a bit of a slow build at first, but future plans include a 2.5"-3" lift, 35s, lockers, sliders, skids, bumpers, winch, many interior upgrades like the stereo and 12v outlets, inverter, etc... Also, it will get a GM V8, 4L65E, and a crawl box eventually.

Here's a pic of how she sits now

Hi Mike, that was me that left the cards in your 80 over at RockYour4x4. That's a clean looking 80 start with. Hope to see you out on the trail soon. Check out the GSMTR coming up in May, good times for sure

Hi, Chris here from Knoxville. I'm usually hanging around the main 80 series forum. But I just picked up my Hundy yesterday. Took the running boards off this morning!!

Chris, come hang out at Cars and Coffee tomorrow with the club. See the post in the next section below for details.

Chris, looks good man!

Thanks @10ga I tried to make it down there, but we had baseball all day!! And to beat it all I was right down the street off Morrell @ Rocky Hill Park. But we had 4 games going on, two back 2 back. But i got her home safe, and she'll be sitting in her rightful spot in the garage all week!! What's the next meet up guys?

We may have a meeting the 3rd of May. I'll check with the president to check. If not, come up to Windrock in Oliver Springs for the Great Smokey Mountain Trail Ride (GSMTR) the 16-22 of May.

I'm thinking it would be nice to have our usual meeting on the 3rd to get a good idea of who is coming and what days people will come to GSMTR.

Hi, folks.

David here in Old North Knoxville and I have a beautiful, tan FJ60. Ryan K left an Appalachia Cruisers card on the truck while it was parked outside my house. I'm excited for the chance to meet other Cruiser enthusiasts.

A little background: I can't remember a time when I didn't love Land Cruisers. My first car was an '87 Crown Victoria. As you can imagine, I wasn't so satisfied. I saved up enough during my freshman year of college to sell it and buy an '89 FJ62. I was stupid enough to sell it a couple years later and have regretted it ever since. Not being a fan of automatic transmissions, I've been on the lookout for a good FJ60. I finally found a deal I couldn't pass up in October and have been enjoying it ever since. The FJ60 is in really good condition. I'd like to get it re-painted eventually and also replace the carpeting. The dash has only one tiny crack, and only the driver's seat shows any damages. She leaks a little oil, but nothing too crazy. She's been struggling to start when hot, so I'm going to check out the air filter this afternoon if I can get a break from the rain.

Anyway, look forward to meeting y'all at Sweet P's on Tuesday.

-David

Awesome, see you Tuesday David. I'm glad you got the card and I drive by your Cruiser at least twice a week.
