Thanks! I'm looking for a '76 or later FJ40, but I'll consider earlier models if the condition/restor/mods are right. Trying to be choosy enough to get a solid ride, but not so picky that I can't satisfy my budget. I don't mind spending $8-9k for a good rig, but I may be better off staying below $6k. I don't need a hardcore trail rig, in fact I would prefer something closer to stock with a moderate lift and tires to match. I keep thinking stock and as I shop around and see all these great rigs/mods, my imagination starts to get carried away.

Here's an example, probably on the heavier side of what I'm looking for in terms of mods, but I like... 1977 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40 - Just back from Moab

I don't know if it's still available, but if it were local it would probably be in my driveway already. But with it being in KS, obtaining it pushes the total near the top of my budget.

If any of this is unrealistic, please let me know. Thanks! I appreciate all the welcomes and support.

And apparently my idea of "stock" and yours are 2 totally different things..... :grinpimp:

That 40 looks like mine (Jose). Great looking truck. Welcome aboard

Same thing I thought when I saw it. Put some black fenders on it and it could be Jose's twin.

Haha! Yeah, like I said... My brain keeps saying stay close to stock, but my eyes keep getting drawn to more modded rigs.

The example I posted is much farther than I would take mine if I start closer to stock, but i like the look and pricetag. The mods I like most on this rig are the lift, tires and power steering.

I need to keep reminding myself that I'll be on streets more than trails.

Hey guys I just thought I would introduce myself to the MUD forum for those who do not know me from the FJ forum and the workday last weekend.

On a side note: Mike, you did not trade your FJ in at Acura of BR today did you? I just saw one at work that I swear is yours!!

We have another member in your neck of the woods Justin has a white 80 thats nicely built. He's a great guy and would certainly be a good one to talk cruisers with. Maybe we can meet up with you at Catahoula Recreation Area or Sicily Island as we call it for an outing one weekend. That park is awesome when the weather is nice :D

Thats one sweet 80!

Talked to a guy named Josh with a sweet 2nd gen 4Runner at Academy today. He moved here from Oregon and showed interest in running some trails. Gave him a club card and hope he checks out.

Good to hear John I hope we hear from him, I'm going to do a better job this year of putting more cards out and maybe we can reach a few looking for a club like ours :)
