06 LC - Few weeks ago my front passenger seat started making some very awful noise wile sliding front and backwards! Normal up, down or tilt.

My first attempt was to spray some lube in the tracks in case it was just dry. It eliminated a good chunk of the noise but not all.

Waited for enough time to pull it out to check and when I tilted the seat back I found a bunch of small magnetic balls everywhere inside and outside the inner track(next to center console)!

I've worked on a bunch of seats before and had never seen magnetic ball bearings for rollers!
They were getting jammed inside the track as the seat slides. The noise made me think of a bad motor.

Got them all out and seat slides fine now so I'm left wondering if they actually came from that side of the track or if it's something weird that had been dropped long wile ago n just now made a mess! No more noise.

Any input?

that looks like a metal chain that is on overhead lights or some keychains. I am guessing it was dropped and got caught, I dont think that is part of the seat.

I agree with yotasavg - they're Magnetix. I've stepped on hundreds of those magnetic balls (my kids loved them when they were younger). Looks like the previous owner's kid lost a bunch of them.

Well then! That means they have been there for a long time and just now decided to give me trouble! I bought the LC in '13.

they are a banned toy. enjoy them!!
... that's right, something about small magnets in kids stomachs and intestines. Just don't eat those things Paulo and you should be good to go.

I don't plan on eating them but have a little guy cruising around the house who would put them down so fast you wouldn't believe!
