The list making is why I was asking actually. When it comes to cooking outdoors I am a little more OCD than I would normally be.

i'm thinking bring your own drinks and then anything else that you may want to eat. I am going to bring chicken, northern beans (it is a camping trip afterall we'll need music), and part of a shoulder.

I have to save some for jambalaya.

All right Time for some real planning..
I think the list on the first page is pretty solid..
If there are any corrections let me know..
Matt is coming in on Sunday so if any one wants to tag along with him let him know..

I say we meet in Birmingham around 9am.. Probably O'henrys since everyone knows where that is..
We will be "hitting the trail" near Sylacauga so folks coming from the south can meet us down there..
I'll figure out a meeting place and time today or tomorrow if any one is interested in meeting in Sylacauga.

Looks Like Matt D. is bringing his meat but if we want sides we should decide who will bring what.
Lunch should be byo; I can cook breakfast for every one or we can byo on that too just let me know.
I will have enough coffee for every one..

We will need Firewood I have none but can carry a bit with me if some one wants to bring it and split it up when we meet. I am going to try and have some one deliver some ahead of time but no promises.

I haven't looked at the weather probably something we should do but I will camp in just about anything.

So post up if I missed something or if you want to volunteer to bring something.

Most of the "planned" ride should be really easy (gravel road style) if we have enough time we can find some places that will provide a little bit of challenge..

Post up if you are in need of some camping equipment..
I know I have some extra sleeping pads and extra tent and numerous odd and ends.
I can get a hold of just about anything you will need with enough time.

I'm excited! Let me know where we can meet so we can avoid backtracking if possible.

We will bring some bread and I'll talk to Kait about what to put in the crockpot.

I can bring a couple dozen eggs for breakfast.

via mobile app.

ok.. A load of Firewood should be waiting on us..
We still might want to bring some more but at least we will have some..

Zack bring them eggs I'll cook them up.

We are bringing a side of greenbeans, new potatoes, and ham. It sounds like a lot but its just a crockpot full.

My machete is MIA. I have a splitting maul, but not a standard ax.

Also unable to locate the lid for the larger Dutch oven so I'll only have the smaller one with us.

via mobile app.

I can't wait to get away from here. Work this week has been kicking my ass, and i'm ready for a camp fire, bourbon, and wheeling. (not necessarily in that order... though could be fun)

I'll have the following in the truck with me:
Chainsaw
Recovery strap
shackle
tool bag
bourbon
bbq rub
bacon

I've got an extra 30* mummy bag if anyone needs it.

I'll also bring some sort of side, beans or something maybe, I'll wait until a little later in the week to make the grocery run and get whatever we're lacking. Maybe peanuts and pretzels or something to snack on with beer.

Work this week has been kicking my ass

It is only Tuesday...

I had to go take a post accident drug test today. Friday can't get here soon enough.

I'll have a chain, recovery strap, snatch block, and an assortment of shackles. + winch, but my controller is on its last leg.

I almost asked about a chainsaw but if you have one I wont bother bringing mine. my fridge takes up the space I used to have dedicated for grease, oil, gas etc so I'd rather leave it at home when possible.

If I dont forget it this time I'll have my trasharoo and it can be the community can until it gets full. I have never filled it up before but this might be a large group.

I have a CB sitting in the garage but seriously doubt if Ill get it installed for the trip. Will anyone have any kind of radio? I am still looking at what system I want to get. I almost bought a pair of gmrs radios but then remembered the 80 dollar license.

I'll have all kinds of recovery gear..
I have a cb half installed that may be finished by then..

Kieth bringing enough bacon for everyone?

I'm still trying to figure out what I should bring

I'm in for chicken, pulled pork, northern beans, smoker, charcoal, a prep table, and I think that's all.

It's cool man all that stuff should've been out of your system after 24 hrs

Well Mr. Heard we got some interesting results back on your drug test..
No.. No you showed negative for drugs but........

Well you appear to be pregnant

Speaking of pregnant I have good news!

I found the big lid so we have both Dutch ovens.

via mobile app.

I think you need to spend more time on urbandictionary

Yeah I'll bring enough bacon for everyone. I found a good pig. It kept the drug money.

I know Hal and I will have CB's.

F that GMRS stuff, get your ham!! It's so easy. I can talk to tuscaloosa from my house. Your inner zombie apocalypse prepared self says get on it.

Seriously though, I know I harp on the radio thing. It's way more fun on a group run when we can all talk trash among one another. CB or ham both work, ham just gives you some more legs on it. Also way cheaper than GMRS for the lic, costs like $10 to take the test and get it.

If folks want to I can bring my CB SWR meter to tune up in camp if you've got a halfway install that needs finishing up.

I haven't used them on gmrs, but have been shocked at how good the frs is around the neighborhood.

Sweet! You bringing it on Sunday? I have wanted to check out one of those radios.

I used hamtestsonline to study, and it took me about 2 weeks to get to the point I was passing the practice tests for technician. (Pre marriage and kiddo) I had another couple weeks to go before the exam session so I studied the general material and got both in one sitting. That site makes it easy to study the things you have trouble with and phases out the questions you get right consistently.

As a reference point, if that handheld is 5w output: I talked to a guy on top of baptist Montclair from my house in meadowbrook on simplex (no repeater) and he was on a 5w handheld. Crystal clear full quieting. Sounded great.
