I am getting together a over night ride in early February.
I have two options for location and two options for weekends.

Location:

Talladega National forest (Skyway motor way and Gana Trail)
This will be a loop.. We would meet and head to Sylacauga then into the trail.
We will take half the loop toward Cheaha camp for the night then take the other half back to Sylacauga.
This route will be easy offroad (ie catfish should be able to do 90% of the ride)
There is a route around the one rough part that I know of.
If there is extra time we can explore some of the open gated roads in the area of the campsite.

Time
February 9-10

Who is Coming:
Clarence +1 And a jeep kid
Matt B.- Sunday
Matt D.- Bringang his meat
Mathew-
Kieth-
Brian and boys
Zack +1
Eric H.- Maybe
Sam I AM- + Some Jeep dudes

One vote for TNF / Skyway, Feb 2-3.

I also vote that we pass the hat for Matt D. to be the camp chef for the trip. Chhhhhhicken THIGHS!

I have no issues with dogs..
I would only think that there would be an issue at a large event where you could have packs of the roaming around.

I would like to go, and would be down for either of both. Got a couple of other friends that would also be interested in taking their 4runners.

down for either ride.
Don't decide for catfish's sake... I'll leave her in the pond if need be.

dogs allowed?

I typically do not bring my dog on overnight trips... it stresses them out as well as the folks that have to deal with them... not their owners.

If school work doesn't bog me down, I'd be down for the 2-3 at either trail, but the forest isn't too far from Auburn. That is, as long as y'all don't mind have a couple college kids tag along through the woods haha

This is the rigs that show up most weekends. Only one 80 and one 100 the rest are 40/45s and fj cruisers.

Gearing up

My wife got wind of an overnight trail ride coming up. This is what she told Santa to bring me. Just set it up in the yard to see how big it is, and it is BIG. It lets me take advantage of the back of the Cruiser to sleep in (I also got a 0 degree sleep bag with it) and leaves enough room for a queen size bed in the main room. The red end of the tent is a screen room for gear or hanging out at the campsite. it has no floor , but you could easily put down a tarp for ground cover. Only concern is is it too big? Seems well built, and quality materials. Will report after first use.
