Post your latest, post your best, tell the story!

I did a classic one today...actually tore the front diff off the housing...2 studs sheared, the balance stripped the nuts, and the mating surface for the diff is badly tweaked. Needed a pry bar to unwedge it from the housing. Oddly, the front ARB, 5.29's, new driveshaft, Longfields and everything else all appear unscathed and in fine shape. Just need to source a replacement minitruck front housing, or talk myself into the Diamond I've been drooling over...

We were on Nasty Half at Sand Hollow (20 minutes from home)...9 rated trail...same one that @Mace destroyed his rear link mounts on, I just made it to the next major obstacle ;)

Steel ball in a rubber room amigo lol

Just part of the off-road cycle of life. Beef it up and see what breaks next!

That's an impressive tweek.

The most nuisance issue I have ever had aside from the pile of birfields I broke in the 90s.
4619 stock class race truck, I can bend front housings, knuckle balls, and snap steering arm pins on command. 4600 class sees some serious abuse and if you want to fund weak spots, run a race, any and all will be exposed.
I have posted a,couple pics of post racing inspection. After a bunch of races of finishing but having crushed knuckle balls, or bent other front axle parts. we quit playing . Diamond housing with 80 series outters , 9.5 center, Hellfire knuckles, RCV shafts, this thing is built for this sort of use. No comparison .

this happened 8 years ago. but def the most carnage in one weekend

This thread is going to be good.

October 15 I high centered it on the transmission ripping the whole powertrain out of the chassis (still all factory rubber mounts at the time) and clocking it relative to the frame and putting it into the radiator. Frame was high centered on different set of rocks.
Took probably four hours to move it ten feet

This was also many years ago. Before all my tube work. I love it when your best buddy lets you drive over a car with his truck. Marcus, your the s***!

That's some decent flex

The solution to your problems exist grasshopper.
In all seriousness, this front axle has changed our game. Its out right now as we prep for KOH 2017

Looks like a ruffstuff housing with a custom knuckle setup. I'd be interested for more specs as well.

Diamond housing with 80 series knuckle balls
9.5 center with 4.88s and ARB
Hellfire knuckles with ARP hardware
RCV shafts and drive flanges

Are the 80 rcv birfs stronger than the mini rcv birfs?

Yes they are massive. but even more important because I was not breaking longs but crushing knuckle balls to the point you can't get the birf out without cutting the ball apart. the 80 knuckle ball is proving to be much tougher.
