I got my new Garret Wade catalog and it has the single seam steel cans for fuel and water with spouts and gaskets as well now IN STOCK with no price increase from last time. Still $49 for the cans, $15 for spouts, and $5 for the extra gaskets if you need them.

I placed order for two more gas, one more water, one gas spout, and two backup gaskets this morning.

Check them out....

I wanta get a pair but I need to find a rack that will bolt on my roof rack or (preferably) my spare tire.
I was thinking Toyota had tire rack for the FJC but last time I was at Ralph Hayes our parts guy (name ?) couldn't find any sign of it in his system.
Must have been an aftermarket item that they included in the little books they handed out the first year of the FJC.

Good price for new. And they sure do look nice. I really like the water one. I wonder if it would have a metal taste? Still I like the spouts. Can you tell me if it is the vented type? The staight ones pour slow. But on the other hand they are cheap.

I will say if anyone wants them used and the ones I got were in good shape. Gundy hooked me up back a couple years with this link. Coleman's Military Surplus, army surplus. survival gear, hunting, camping gear

I got 2 NATO cans and one of the swiss water cans. The thing I like about the swiss water cans are they are really cheap. Never leaked water. And best of all they have a big mouth, big enough to put your hand through as well as make a good spare cooler for storing drinks. Cannot tell you how valuable that last part is.;)

I think the water ones are lined with a food grade liner to prevent taste issues and leaching of metal into water.

I have three of the Wedco and two Blitz at home now and love the WEDCO versions. I do not think they are vented as the will NOT pour smoothly unless you use the spout for them as well. When I bought mine originally through Briggs and Stratton they came with spouts.

The WEDCO/NATO versions are smaller in size SLIGHTLY than the US versions such as BLITZ or others so if you have NATO or WEDCO racks they might not hold other styles.....but if you have BLITZ racks or other American sized the NATO/WEDCO will fit no problem.

got mine for 20 bucks at cheaperthandirt.com. NATO used version. Right now they are out so I am may get one of these.

I ended up picking up two more of the gas versions, one of the water versions, an extra spout for gas as I dont care if water sploshes around a little when pouring, two spare gaskets and then also two of their storage racks to see if I can put them on Baja Rack somehow or on my FJ60 somehow if I dont use on FJ Cruiser.....

Just received the Adventure Trailers can mounts. They mount vertical or horizontal. Nice light weight aluminum and paintable. A bit pricey, but those guys called me be unlike the other two I emailed and called several times.
