I am having some issue with getting my webber 32 36 to idle after i put a manual coke on it. so started looking and deiced that it need to be taken off inspected cleaned and put back together. But happen to have a extra NIB webber 32 36 that was given to me long ago for another project that is long since dead. so I pulled the one of the 40 and the part # is 32 36 DVG33b1 and the new one is a 32 36 DVG 5A they look exactly the same. anyone know the difference? will and can it work on the FJ40? thanks for any help. The 33B1 is a standard replacement kit carb for Japanese engines but also used for a lot of other stuff . The 5A series is a stock manual choke version intended for general applications . I'd pull the top off the 33B1 , remove the top air jets and the emulsion tubes below them to see what series tubes are in that carb - it may have been set up for the Cruiser's engine as a Redline kit . Those tubes , if different from the F55 tubes in the 5A model should be swapped into the new unit to maintain the jetting curve . Might as well check the main jets , air jets and idle jet sizes as well .
