I'm taking all of dec of to spend with the baby but a desert trip sounds cool?

Lone pine/ death valley?

It is on the agenda for the Dec meeting.

Did anything get planned? A snow run, maybe?

I was talking to one of the Fresno guys tonight, and he's planning on a snow run to somewhere on the first. He was saying they've met up with you guys along the way before.

It was discussed at the meeting.

Jan 1st

8:00am Prince Market - Lemon Cove

i cant wait. will be the first run of my H1. (exploded the d70 in the 80 on thanksgiving day-only one hour after pulling off the trailer in Utah

will your 45 be on the trail for this run?

Lets get a head count

I'm gonna put the FJ Cruiser through the paces since the shop won't have my rear driveline ready before the first. Better bring a lot of you extra tow straps Dustin and throw your 12 Puma in the back for tires. I'll meet up at you place in the morning. Bring Mia, Connor's coming.

Anyone else bringing thier youngins?

We plan on going ... If Jerry is going well just follow him out

Guys, I won't be making it after all. Found out the party is being held at Alan's place above Pine Flat at Balch Camp this year. Too far to try to make it to the run. SORRY, I know that I said I could be there but not this year.

I'd like to go, and take the family, but need you guys to help "sell" it. What should we expect?

I kind of know the route and understand conditions can vary. How much time is usually spent driving, as opposed to letting the kids play in the snow, eating, etc? Do you go back the same way, or take the highway home?

Some of you may think the questions unnecessary, but communication is something we all need more of. ;)

This snow run will be something to not take lightly this year. The snow will be extremely deep compared to previous years. A couple of years ago, it took two vehicles with 42" and 39" tires respectively to break the trail. I would suspect the snow to be much deeper this year than then. Front/Rear lockers and at least 33" tires will be very beneficial this year I believe.

What road are we going up?is there a spot to pull off by to let kids play in snow just wondering about snow toys ect....

we will be getting unstuck so often that the kids will have plenty of time to play in the snow. im bringing my little brother and a tow rope with snow board so we can do some skiing

im also bringing an ARB 4" snatch strap

There really isn't any place to play with toys until we get to quail flat. I guess I should say if we get to quail flat.

Dusty - Do you have a plan if you were to get stuck? I am just asking since there won't be another vehicle to pull you out if you do.

my h1 is unarmored. and all aluminum body of course. it is the stripped down army version. the tag on the door lists the vehicle weight as only 5300 lbs. it also has the light springs so you can only pile 2300 lbs in this one and you can only tow 9000 lbs.

truck looks huge but actually weighs less than my wifes 100 series and considerably less than my lexus crawler. it also has DOZENS of factory military recovery points. and there is no big diff to get hung up. 37's from the factory. i bet im not the one who will be stuck.

however, i have no lockers but do have a selectable locking center diff
