I have been trying to track down a leak in my 62 for some time now. Have been unable to replicate it, but every time it rains I get water that starts right at the pillar by the drain plug in the floor board. Have pulled up the carpet and monitored this. can't find any water coming from forward, towards the fire walls or on the inside of the panel (where the door light switch is located). Seems like the water is coming out from the weld right where the floor board meets the door jam. Here is a picture of where I think the water is coming out (right by the red tape), the big question is how is it getting to there. Is this coming from the rain gutters or from under the hood somewhere? Any ideas?

Check for a small puddle in the inside corner of the windshield gasket. Also make sure there are no rust bubbles pushing the gasket up, on the outside, they can perforate and make your life miserable. Also check the seam where the firewall meets the pillar.

mine used to leak through the drain plug itself. sealed it with some RTV and that seemed to work.

Mine had a couple of planter boxes' worth of mud, needles and leaves in the cowl...

99 times from a 100 it's water riding the back of cables coming through the firewall. Just to be sure run a bead of silicone around all the cables going into your cabin.
I've obsessed over these problems in the past and its always the firewall, it just takes a bit of trial and error to find the point of entry.

Thanks All. I don't think it is coming from the draing plug as it will happen when the car has been parked. I would think could only be the plug if it splashed up while driving.

The cabling is not wet in front of the red tape in the picture, but I will start checking at the fire wall.
