So I got my truck back yesterday, the shop ended up draining the gas tank and discovered about 4 gallons (omfg!) of water. 🤦‍♂️
I guess a perfect example of “steel tank sweat”…
But anyways she’s running pretty rough, “s***ty” as the mechanic (a friend of mine) put it. In the 5.5 years of owning the truck I probably only ever topped off the gas tank 3 or 4 times, every other time just tossing in $10, so that and MAYBE prolonged sitting (not really 🤷🏿‍♂️) caused the issue.
I topped it off with ethanol free 93 immediately after leaving the shop. I guess the idea is to see if I just keep running it, more so than usual, whatever water is “in the lines” will get eventually worked through.

I was blown away that this was the reason it was running crappy and the volume of water in the tank! Things to consider…
I’m off for a drive 🤙🏿

pretty much no way four gallons of water is condensation.
did you replace the fuel filter as well?
how are your filler and vent hoses etc?
