Hello, I post every once in awhile but read postings all the time,
I also have a 2000 TLC, Gray, purchased with 60.5K miles last year for $25.5K, it has a powertrain
warranty and roadside up to 100K miles. It's a beautiful truck and when I went searching for trucks the LC was the only vehicle for me. The peculiar thing abut this Gray truck is that when the light is right the color actually looks like a very very light pink champange color. Has anyone experience this or does it sound like Ive been in the sun to long. I have 65K miles on it now, no problems of course(knock on wood) and I'm a proud owner. Have not done any detailing as of yet but I look forward to doing so. Enjoy reading and learning from the posts! Any one in StlMo area on this sight ?

Where did you get the Leatherique? I was blown away by the detailing info at www.autopia.org it's the bobistheoilguy.com for detailing cars.

I ordered it from leatherique.com out of S. Carolina. I bought one 16 oz bottle of each. It was about $50.00 total, but should last about a year.

Tad: Thanks for the info.

Hey.. for the OCD guys, here's something to try.

I used to use Zymol carnuba waxes. While they can give you great results, they don't last long and it's a lot of effort.

I tried a new (for me at least) synthetic, and I'm extremely pleased with the results. It goes on and off in 1/10th the time of the carnuba, lasts much longer, and looks great. I'm on my third wash since waxing, and the car is still slipery smooth.

Give it a shot if you're into this kind of stuff. Use the polish when you need it, and then use the sealant. Good stuff, and super fast and easy.

I use Griots Leather Rejuvenator- it's cheaper (around $15) and works great, softend up the leather.

Also the Griots paint sealant works well for long intervals.

I haven't waxed my truck since I bought it... :o

Yeah, autopia is a incredible resource.

Ditto also on the Mequiars swirl remover. After that, I usually hit mine w/ the polish/glaze and then wax it.

Leatherique is great stuff. Don't forget to turn on the seat heaters when applying for max effect :)
