Appears to be a good deal on it's face, but beware as something is off. Seller told me the windshield was replaced from a rock chip and that it would show up on Carfax, which seemed odd. Carfax shows lots of damage that sellers said were rock chips. When pressed, they said headlights grille, etc. were all replaced due to chips. They then said they were not comfortable proceeding with me as they had a ton of other offers (been listed for a while, and my inquiry was a while back but just thought to post here to warn fellow Mud members). The whole experience felt off. Clearly they are hiding something
After my inquiry, the name and phone number of the buyer changed, but the ad stayed up.



It very well could have been minor damage, but my spidy-sense tells me something is off...

The ad copy sounds like it was written by someone who flips used cars as a side job. It might be a case of curbstoning. Did you have an opportunity to see if the name of the registered owner matches the name of the seller?

I didn't, but the Carfax shows the last owner bought it as a certified used in 2018, and that is how it is listed. Seems like just a shady seller, but possibly a curbstoner.


Edit:

Googled the phone #. Mylife.com shows he is a shady guy, criminal and lawsuits/liens/bankruptcies (not sure how accurate that site is). He is also a car dealer (or used to be), so he may be curbstoning it. Good call @biphnest
