Warn xd9000 modding

Shopping around for winches and finding one to fit the rear is getting tough.

cannot be higher then 7.6 inches so a warn xd9000 just barely fits.
T-max wont, superwinch husky wont.

Anyways, i came across these two pictures of xd9000s and obviously they look slightly different.

the eganing knob looks to have been rotated on the used one. can this easely be done, as it would make me life really easy.

From memory, i think you have no problem with that. You just have to unbolt the top of the winch (about 10 bolts), rotate it to the position you need, bolt it again, and you're ready to go.
Someone correct me if i'm wrong.

yeah you unbolt the cover, pull it out just enough to rotate it and bolt it back on, pretty easy.
