I had an accident couple of day ago (no one got hurt!) and the cruiser is a bit beat up but she'll live!! Only thing that I cannot afford to replace is the winch.... With the impact, one of the mounting snapped off as the pictures are showing.... Don't think it can be welded back, co my idea of a fix is to fabricate a sort of U bolt to put around the winch and then tighten it.... My thought is that it should hold up pretty nicely.... Any other thoughts or ideas will be greatly appreciated!!

It could probably be welded and be fine strenght wise, but it is also probably cheaper to just get a new one from Warn.

Replacing is not an option, as there is no one here who deals in this kind of accessories!! And it would be very expensive for me to ship and import the unit here... Only options are mending or scavenge search for another unit in the local used market.... What kind of material is the housing anyways?? cast iron or aluminum??? cause I might search for someone who welds these type of metals....
Thanks

What, you can't order Warn parts and have them to shipped them to you in Africa?

If I had to guess, I would expect that it is 7075 aluminum because of the application. You could have someone weld it.

It looks very similar to Chinese winches which have the same bottom mounting bolt pattern. For a Chinese plate, you might need to drill some holes for the gear box, but if you can find Chinese parts easier, this may be an option.

ok guys, thanks a lot, i'll give a shout at warn customer care and see what they suggest... Also I'll start the scavenge search for a scrapped xd 9000 and see what i can come up with...
