Warn x8000i remove solenoid assembly?

Looking at the parts breakdown on the 9000i I don't see any reason you couldn't relocate the solenoid pack and connector. The only issue will be the drum support castings, either you'll have to cut the supports and fab some other upper support or replace them with the castings from the non-integrated unit and tie rods.
Not a brand for brand comparison but I have seen a Superwinch EP9000i winch converted to a standard EP9000 which is similar setup.
