So I had been planning on spending the coin on a Warn 8274 but i stumbled into a brand new x8000i at an estate sale! It was absolutely crazy, but to make a long story short there it was sitting in the corner under a cover and I stole it from the poor guy running the sale. It came mounted to a 2" receiver adapter for a trailer hitch. I want to mount it to the front of my 75' 40. My truck currently has a stock bumper.

My question is whether or not I should sell this one and put the $$ towards the 8274 I was thinking or if there is a good way I can mount it? Ideally I would rather not spend the money right now (I am in school).

Thanks in advance for the help!

Joe

either way your going to have to do something with the bumper. Break out the money or fab something. My vote would be keep the x8000i.

I think budbuilt makes a bracket for the winches and maybe you can mount that to your bumper. Probably just easier just to buy a bumper built for it.

not exactly the same, but here is how I mounted my m8000

Hi All:

To mount a low-mount electric winch on a 40/45 Series all you need is something like this:

MAF Winch Mount for Warn MX Series 40 & 55 Bumper

I've had an older version of this "boiler plate" winch mount on my FJ40 for the last ten or so years.

Alan

not the best pic but its the winch mounting channel from CCOT

about 3/4 of the way down Bolt Kits

Thanks for the info guys, I usually do a bit more research before making a move on something but this was too good to pass up.

I think that either the MAF or CCOT mount is what I am going to go with. I will post up a pic when I get it sorted out!

Thanks!

Joe
