Warn 8274

I need help with my Warn winch. Its the 8274 like in the link below.

I tried to unspool my winch using the remote control but all I hear is a "click". Does my Warn even unspool with the remote? What is the pulling leaver for on the top lept?
Pulling the rope back in does work using the remote. I had about an inch left to test if it pulls.

You might find the manual helpful. The pull out knob is the clutch release and you need to pull it out to allow the drum to reverse so you can unspool rope/cable. You can download a pdf from warn (link).

Thanks for the manual.
I pulled out the knob to release the clutch but I still can´t pull out the winch. Ive tried pulling it by hand and with the remote I still get the "click" sound.

1. You have a bad solenoid for the spool out direction.
2. Either you did not pull the knob out all the way or the brake is frozen.

They can be hard to pull out even disengaged via the knob.

I agree with the above posters that it sounds like a solenoid issue. Look into an Albright solenoid if you're interested in upgrading.

Thanks guys, I´ll order new solenoids and see if that solved it

Or you can buy the Albright contactor from Warn with a Warn sticker on it for about 35% more money as the "WARN 34971 Contactor"
