Wanting to repaint an enclosed trailer (1 Viewer)

Hello I'm a new member, just a few questions.. We bought a 2004 20' enclosed trailer yesterday and we are looking to repaint the outside of it. Already know that we are going to make it black, I am just wondering what the best way to go about painting it is? Im not sure what the right and wrong ways are, looking to get the best paint and take the right steps to ensure a decent and mainly long lasting paintjob
