The spare tire carrier changed 5/80 and will not be a direct replacement for an 81. Upper hinge changed spacing and location. It also has an extra tube support. I have a few of them myself but all are the earlier tube style.

correct on the tire carrier, hinge size and spacing is different, telltale sign is the extra vertical tube in the later carriers versus the earlier version

rims are the same as chrome 60/62 series rigs, easier to find, have them sand blasted and powder painted

If you are talking to me, these are on my 79, not for sale, as far as I know, all the white 15" are 6" wide

Where’s the date code on the wheels?

Not sure on the spoke wheel wire but the previous version has a month year date code. Early welded rims in was on the inside where the tube would be and in many cases for rusted. I have rims with a 1961 code. No longer have any FJ25 rims but those were date coded as well. All my 60 series chrome spokes are in another location. Have a white spoke here somewhere but not sure it's even OEM. It is six spoke not the common eight spoke.

I am still trying to figure that out. I am thinking it might be in the numbers stamped in the outside of the wheels.
