As I am way too cheap to actually BUY a new lawnmower, I spend 30+ minutes each week prior to cutting grass just on getting mine to run. (have cobbled several together into one semi running unit currently) I wanted to see if anyone out there has an extra mower, or a good parts donor (especailly carb peices from old B&S) or is looking to upgrade to a better model. $ or trade.

It looks like I am moving to Seattle, and my riding mower wotn be coming with me..
I have this old riding mower, that has either a 6 or 7 hp B&S that runs great... I had just dont some maintenance on the thing (new plug, air clearner, starter, gas tank, fuel filter, belts). I even rattle canned it black with a batman logo on the hood and hooked up a bagger system off of a different brand mower. I even had the tires filled with solid rubber to prevent flats; and that is where the trouble started... in getting hte tires off, I accidently pulled one of hte rear axles out ofthe diff, and when I tookit apart and reinstalled, the diff only made one lap of the yard before no-longer working. I am sure you could either fix the dif, or just use the engine.

It is yours (free if you come and get it). If you dont want it (you get first dibs), it is free to whatever CSC member posts up for it after you.

PM Sent - Batman? Awesome!

Thanks again Brian...It was challenging, and I have a new respect for simple truck axles after that rebuild - but Batman lives as of 10:45 last night! Removed the rear end (a Dana / Spicer model :) )Tore it down and found the c clips on both axles were bent, one missing from pulling the wheels - luckily foud it in the grease trap. Got some new clips, welded the spiders for traction :hillbilly: and then resealed it...:wrench:
It took me about three time longer than a full axle rebuild would have taken on a toy axle - having the trasnmission, and ring / pinion in the same asembly made for interesting work.:grinpimp:
Threw some gas in it, and replaced that hose and then did some neighbor annoyance...running good - thanks again.

Also - is this what you need for the camaro front? 14"

fantastic!!

I am glad it was such an easy fix. It really is a nice mower for all its trashy looks.

For the camaro front end I need 15" wheels to clear the brakes... 5 on 4.75" pattern. Just need two, with tires that hold air, but dont need to look pretty.

Any help in finding them would be appreciated.
