I need everything for my late model 45 underbox spare tire carrier. Anyone have these parts laying around I would like to buy them. Thanks!

What year and model are you wanting it for?

Here is the tire carrier for the late model FJ45LP-B. Easiest way to find one is get one from either a FJ55 or FJ60/FJ62. The 60/62 will have to have the main bracket trimmed down to fit. The FJ55 will just fit in with no mods. This is what I plan to do to my earlier FJ45. Just need to find some C channel to use to mount it to the top of the frame rail.

there was someone looking a few months back.. 2 of us had them at that time.. I sent mine to a new home.. might check that thread..

Late model or earlier tube style? Thought that tread was about the earlier style. Thought about it trying to get ones of those but decided to stay with my plan of using the later style.

The picture I posted is a late model FJ45LP-B from the Middle East. Someone had posted it awhile back and I saved the picture as a reference of how and where the tire carrier mounted. I would never let my spring bushing get that bad. Also curious of the hook that is attached to the frame rail is stock?

I used a (gasp!) Ford F150 tire hanger slab - redrilled to work with the 'cruiser frame, with some all-thread (beefy) on one end. Worked great, and well hidden under the truck. Maybe a good stopgap until you get what you really want for this.

Bought my truck with a second tank where the spare belongs and I think it's good having more fuel but eventually, I'd like to put the spare tire back in its place. My truck is a '78 LP-B so I assume it's the later version, correct? Anyone know what year they changed?

I'm not seeing a hook but I do see what looks like a "C" channel between the cross member and the frame, is that stock? Is the cross member that the chain winch is mounted to the only thing needed or are there more parts for the tire to rest against? More pictures of the later version would great!

Looks like it's assembled differently than the one pictured under the truck. The "C" channel pieces on yours are the opposite side... Since yours looks bone stock original (NICE), I assume that's the proper way?

In the picture below, the side of the carrier in view is the side which faces towards the ground.

I disagree. You can see the two plates on the other side where tire rest. It is also angled that way to mount the winch and have it clear the wheel. My FJ55 bracket does not have those plates but fits between the rails. The FJ60 bracket has plates but too wide. Here is a FJ55 bracket resting in my FJ45 and a FJ60 spare tire carrier I mounted in my M416. I also just noticed the picture I posted it's mounted backwards. The winch would be covered by the tire and block the rod from getting to winch.

You're right, I was seeing it backwards. It would be obvious enough if put in backwards and tried to get the winch to pull the tire up tight, but, since there's only one orientation in which it could be bolted to the frame, so it would have become apparent pretty quick which way was up.

Your right there is only one way it would mount. I will save the picture you posted so I have a better idea of the brackets I need to make. The picture I posted the main carrier is up sided own. Which I gathered they removed the rivets and flipped it. But with the wear on the bushings I guess I shouldn't be surprised. Is the bracket at least in the right location right above the spring perch?

The one on my HJ looks very similar to the one on the '84 4Runner. I'll take a second look, but I'm sure you could find one of those in a junk yard (WNCautoparts.com) and make it work pretty easy.

Is it possibly the same setup as a Troopy? I have one out of my 81 HJ45 that I'll never use. I installed a fuel tank where the spare tire used to be.

I think it's frozen to the ground under a few feet of snow in my carport at the moment.

I don't know if its the same. Anyone have any idea?

Yeah its the same. You can still get them through toyota as well. 51900-60270 is the part number. I got a used one from Spector in a box some where if you cant find one.
