Lookin for a BJ40 or 42 with a good engine, frame and minimal rust. Something probably between $4000 to $9000. Looking forward to putting a little work into it, but this is my first truck and I need it to be a reliable foundation for getting around right off the bat. I'm in Los Angeles, but will travel for the right truck. Thanks!

Good Luck!

Been looking for one myself.

Most rusted out- high mileage ones are going for $9500 and up. For a bj40 minimal rust, roughish interior, and between 100,000 to 150,000 miles you need to expect putting out around $12,000 to $15,000. From there the sky is the limit it appears.

If it is a 1981 or newer or has the 3b engine in it expect to pay more.

Keep you eyes on ebay that seems to be the best place to find them of late.
This seems too be the cheapest I have found on ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1982...39QQihZ006QQcategoryZ6443QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem Emailed fellow- claims his reserve is below $9500 but I do not trust him, seems to be a problem with title.:o

Good hunting:D

There are a few here on mud that will import one for you. And 1 is located I think in Texas. It needs to be an 82 or older but I would go through them for they will not cheat you and they know the paper work needed and can have it shipped to any main port like San Pedro. I was going to have a HJ45 :bounce:shipped to me but just can not come up with the funds at this time.:crybaby: Look them up and talk to them. I hope this helps. Brian

good luck finding something clean in that price range. i can put you in touch withsomebody in the sf bay area who's brought a few in, he plans on bringing in some more within a couple of months.

Has any one know of a Josh Garrison (bbfabricator@yahoo.com). Has a blue bj40 on ebay. He has about 8 bj40's ranging in price from 15,000 to 22,500. All are South American rigs. Claims he can get 4 cyl. diesel powered bj45's and 47's!;p

Only problem with them is pretty bare bones rigs.

No heaters! Not good if you live in Montana:cool:

By the way, any one seen the latest bj44v thats on ebay- Has LX style seats- sweet. Starting bid is $10,000 no reserve.
