I will be posting my FJ40 for sale within the next few weeks as I just bought an 80. The FJ40 has an early '79 2F engine, 4spd tranny, and PS. Model year is an early '73 (9/72). See build thread in signature for info on the FJ40. I also have added a brake booster from an '81 Supra and a master brake cylinder from an '80 (refurbished). Along with Roundeyes and the IPF harness from ARB. I do not think my Scat Procar seats are on the build thread either. Rebuilt carb performed by Mark at Mark's offroad. Hmm, the list goes on. Thinking about $8.5K for the FJ40. Items that need attention sometime or another: small front heater core leak, trying to find out where, it pressure tested good. Drips one to three drops a day. It has been partially desmogged by the previous owner but needs to completed. I also have an intermittent clutch slave leak; currently it is not leaking and I have been driving it around for three weeks. Power steering pump leaks while under great load trying to go over rough terrain or through deep snow. During my engine/tranny swap, either the rear main seal or a seal on the tranny did not seal properly. I have not pulled the skid plate off to see where it is coming from. I am thinking it is the rear main seal. It drips about 8 drops a week. Body has original paint and typical rust in rear quarters. Fiberglass top does not leak but needs restoration. All glass is good. I have the FJ40 dialed in and it would easily make the drive back to NC if the driver is up for it. During my last road trip from ABQ, NM to Crested Butte, CO I was getting approximately 13.5 MPG on the highway; adjusted for the 33 inch tires. Before the trip to Crested Butte, I installed a new radiator.
