Howdy,

Need 5 speed transfer case shifter parts.
Basically everything circled in red.

I need to clean up my conversations as I have hit the limit, so please email me at ernram@gmail.com if you get a bounce back.

Thanks,
Ernie

Should probably include more information. What vehicle you are installing the H55F in? Plus what top cover on the H55F and what transfer shifter are you looking for, 40, 60 70 series?

Good point

The 5 speed is out of a late 86/early 87 70 series with a 3B fine spline input shaft.. It has the big front bearing retainer with the two ears. I have a new course spline input shaft for 2F. The top cover is not the front position used in 40s, but the back position found in 60 and 70s

The transfer case is 38mm idler and currently has the vacuum shifter so i have gathered the parts to convert to mechanical shifter internal to the transfer case.

This package will go into a 1975 FJ55.

So in summary I think I'm looking for a transfer case shifter setup from a 86+ 70 series

Thanks
Ernie

In the US your best chance is transfer linkage from a 4/85-7/87 60 series. This is when Toyota added a dummy spacer to the back of the H42 so it equals the length of the H55F. Transmission shift cane was different but the transfer case linkage was the same.

Either 60 or 70 series will work. The linkage from a 40 series would put the lever forward close to transmission shift cane which is forward of the 60/70 series.
For reference this is a 70 series shifter which is very close to the 60 series.

Probably a little more vertical than 60 series based on the differences in the boots for both.

Ernie, I think i have what you are looking for ... PM sent.

Thanks guys,

The insight of using the later model 60 series 4 speed with the dummy spacer is a keen insight. That should be much more available in the US.

Jb,

I replied to your PM.

Thanks

These are still not real easy to since the H55F Is a popular conversion. But these were used in the US. Going in a FJ55 using a 70 series H55F I would source the 70 series shifter. Being a little further back a vertical lever would give it better clearance from the seats. Last time I checked believe new boots for 70 series are still available. The two other posters in your thread are both in countries that got the 70 series. The picture I posted was taken by Phil @nogo.
