I was washing my FJC today and popped the hood to do some final touches and noticed a burger bun and fries were spilled in the engine compartment. Obviously it was the dealer's prep work, since I haven't had the FJC in for a service since bought it. I can't wait to take it back and slam the evidence down on the sales managers' desk. I will never return to this dealer whos name I can't reveal. Unless enquiring minds want to know.

Oh come on, the poor tech didn't even get to finish his lunch because he was working on your truck. Seriously though, it didn't hurt anything. If it happened to me I would be more amused than outraged but obviously YMMV. About the worst you could say is that if he was that forgetful, what else didn't he do that he was supposed to as part of the prep.

Things under the hood: once my FJ80 started smelling really bad, and got worse every day until I tracked down the smell to the engine bay. A rat had crawled in when I parked it outside one night in the winter and managed to die there. I guess he wanted to get warm off of the cooling engine.

Why not name the dealer ?

Actually, it was sort of amusing. I thought today I would just be able to order a happy meal from the glove box, and that maybe the guys at Hamer accidently installed a burger and fry machine under the hood, but no such luck.

It does give me a new invention idea though.

You never opened the hood since buying it?

Go easy on em bro. I agree with 1911. As a guy who has worked in a dealership for over 10 years I can sympathize. We all make mistakes. If you yell at them it'll get you nowhere, but if you just let them know that you found it and let them know that you will give them a perfect survey with Toyota anyways if they would be willing to redetail the rig for you, I bet you'll be leaving with a shiny clean rig.

The poor guys lunch was cold and he was trying to heat it up:)

Back when I had a LR Discovery, I heard something clanking around under the hood. I opened up the hood and found a Snap-On torque wrench down beside the battery. Needless to say, the mechanic at the LR dealership was extremely happy when I brought it back to him. :)

I had a feild mouse living in my old ford air filter box, I went to change the filter and it had stored about 2 ears worth of feed corn in there aling with it's nest and excrement. lol

Sales skipped the active delivery showing you the yellow marked items under the hood, or you were in a rush and told him that you knew more than him since you did research?
