My nephew in Las Vegas ordered a raw bumper and had it shipped to me in Arizona. He's limited in tools so I offered to help him out but more importantly for to spend quality time with him.

The way the bumper was shipped.

More protection under the cardboard.

Being a fabricator myself I thought the bumper was designed and built nicely.

The hardware included as well as side clips.

I smoothed out a couple of welds prior to sand blasting and powder coating. The color was BK168.

Yesterday my Nephew made the drive down to Tucson and we went right to work.

The truck was leveled front to back and side to side by varying tire pressures. Once leveled we used a laser level to plot some points followed by a cut line.

The cut line to follow. We used a 5" DeWalt hand grinder with a cutoff wheel.

I cut the passengers side while he followed up with the drivers side.

This is what we had after the cutting.

Ready for the new bumper.

A side shot of the cut. A Die grinder with a 2" 60 grit rol-loc dressed up the plastic nicely.

The new Victory bumper indexed right in without issues. The lower cross member will be trimmed cleaning up the look.

All done! The lower cross member trimmed.

We also serviced his zerks, rotated his tires and designed some sliders for his next visit in April.

Last October we drove this very rig to Colorado and completed Black Bear Pass, Engineers Pass, and hiked the Snuffles Traverse. My nephew really uses this rig as intended. He frequently takes his Wife, two boys as well as their two dogs and drives deep into unfrequented trails. We're planning an Arctic Circle trek in 2023.
My overall impressions of the Victory Bumper design, fit and finish are A+++.

Splendid install! You guys did great! I would love to have an aftermarket bumper on our new Pro, but I do NOT wish to lose any of Toyota's "Safety Sense" features that we have. Currently, all the bumper manufacturers I have researched mention that "some" of the TSS features may/will be disabled. So, I'll just keep the stock bumpers until something changes. BTW- Love that you guys did Black Bear Pass with his Tacoma. That's one pass here in Colorado that I have no interest in doing.

Thank you.
His Taco is a 2017 and didn't have any sensors up front. I think that's one of the reasons he really like this yer model. The rear bumper is another story, He does have some safety enhancements that he would like to preserve.

Hey! That’s me! I am so happy with the way it turned out and am thankful I had the watchful eye (and hand) to help me install. I am proud of how the truck is turning out and excited to install a winch in it in the near future. I have a build thread on TacomaWorld (that needs to be updated now), if there is some interest I will link.

Thanks again @firestopper

Hey @RickC5 Firestopped is correct. My ‘17 doesn’t have any “forward assist,” just parking sonar and BSM. I keep looking back at the Apogee Off Road rear bumper because to my knowledge it’s the only one that retains those functions.

We've seen no issues with the front radar with any of our non-tube front bumpers. The models with tubing could technically be in the way of the radar depending on what front grill you have.

We do both the Blitz and Strike fronts bumpers without tube for the tacos.

Blitz on my '21 Pro (Tacoma Front Winch Bumper | Blitz | 3rd Gen (16+) - Victory 4x4 - https://www.victory4x4.com/product/VT3FB.html)
