jeeez!
tonight, i tell my better half that saturday i need to replace my plugs in my rig, and get another small heater hose to replace the one that weeps( only when the heat is on. its the one under the heater control valve)
anyway...she starts in on the "every weekend its something else ( its not) why dont you just go and get the FJ cruiser you've looked at?"
I say..."lemme check between the crack of my a**....oh..i cant seem to fine the 30 grand that you must have put there!"
maybe i can smash up my car while yapping on the phone, and the i CAN get a new one!!!

someone said here a few days ago " if it has 4 tires, or two tits, its gonna give you trouble...."

dont they realize that we get satisfaction from tinkering with our rigs?
and 6 plpugs and an effin hose is still better than the 375 a month we pay for HER NEW CAR!!!!!!

Yea, they don't get it. Gently reminding them that you really do enjoy working working on the truck (despite intermittent outbursts of swearing) will eventually get the message through. You just have to be patient. After seven or eight years spending at least a few hours in the the garage every weekend, my wife finally understands. It helps to clean the sap off her windshield and vacuum her car out every once and a while to put some balance in the vehicle maintanence dept.

Everyone I work with says "why don't you just cut your losses and get a beater with a heater?" I tell them "because then I'd be FIXING s*** instead of just maintaining it!"

DUH

Does your wife ever drive the rig? If she does, or even if she dosen't, show her the pics of the rig that was just broadsided at 50 miles per hour. Everyone was ok, which should be enough justification for keeping the rig.

bang, bang. maxwell, silver hammer...

gotta agree with 60wag... takes a long time to train a good wife... but the wash of their car once in a while goes a long way. and, saving stamps and cashing them in by gently reminding her of the high car payment you both contribute toward her car causes nothing but more of the same back and forth.

now to listen to click and clack to get some real relationship advice.

I understand completely. I found a 60 locally but the wife nixed it and told me I need to get a more reliable vehicle (translation-get rid of the gas guzzling money/time pit). I can understand her point- of the three 60's and 62 I have now, they have all seemed to decrease in relaibility. I wish i would have taken better care of my first 60 because I would still be driving it. It really hurts thinking about getting rid of the 62, but sometimes you just have to cut the cord and let them leave the nest.:frown:
