5w30 is recommended everywhere else in the 3UR.When what is recommended everywhere else around the world? The manual that came with my LC says 0W-20 is preferred so I think a healthy debate is certainly warranted and informative. (And yes, I know about fuel economy games as noted in my previous comment.)

How when the US manual says a heavier weight oil may be used if the vehicle is operated at high speeds or excessive load. Wtf does that mean?I’m curious on issues with a dealer not covering something under warranty if you go out of spec.
That means when your pulling a 8000 lb boat uphill at 123.5 MPHHow when the US manual says a heavier weight oil may be used if the vehicle is operated at high speeds or excessive load. Wtf does that mean?
How that works from a dealer standpoint is if they can prove what you changed out of spec caused the problem.I’m curious on issues with a dealer not covering something under warranty if you go out of spec.
I’d doubt they’d be apt enough to run an analysis. How that works from a dealer standpoint is if they can prove what you changed out of spec caused the problem.
I agree - i went back and read some of the previous debate. A 5w30 makes much more sense to me and i'll be switching in a couple thousand miles when i'm due.I’d doubt they’d be apt enough to run an analysis.
