Last month I/we purchased a 85 w/172K runs great (will need to be re-smoged) Interior is very clean - no rips, cracks, dents, paint is great except hood and NO RUST !! New Geotrecket MT tires.....................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................$1600.00
Dunno, hard to tell. There are no pics of the engine, the underside. I would look for something else. Find someone honest, with pics that are worth a sh%%t,
It is very hard to say what 60s are worth. I paid $3k for mine with 160k, rust free, good paint. It's got 210K now, so it's the cheapest car per mile I've ever owned.
I would think that a good 60 is worth $5k or less, depending on condition. It's too bad, because these are excellent trucks, with life way beyond what most would expect from a regular car. The more expensive that gasoline gets, the less these trucks will cost. If gas goes to $4, expect 60s to sell for $1000. Rusty 60s in my opinion should not be purchased unless very cheap or free.
I just bought an 85 with 208k for $2800 - no rust, body straight, great interior, good tires, brakes, all stock 2F, 4spd, no leaks - a solid stock cruiser. I felt that this was a good deal. Like alot of people on this forum, I am willing to rebuild any part of the truck myself and will enjoy doing so. Gas mileage is a consideration only if it is a daily driver, I drive it twice a week...
Hold out for a rig that has a good body and drivetrain unless you are re-building another cruiser...
