yes. The tank is pressurized. In fact if you don't close the cap tight enough you will get an engine light
 
Yes very normal and my experience shows that the more fuel in the tank the more pressurized it becomes so open slowly and of course not near any sprark or open flame as this pressurized gas is almost an unlit blow torch :mad:
 
Pressure is normal, vacuum is not, correct?

I recall a few people on this forum ended up with collapsed gas tanks because of abnormal vacuum. I think the culprit was the charcoal canister becoming blocked, but you should search for the thread if you think you're having abnormal vacuum in your tank.
 
I had been scared about this 'vacuum' possibility until I threw caution to the wind and dissregarded the safety instructions and removed the gas cap quickly once... Foomp. It lept from the spout showing that there was pressure, not vacuum.

I try to be on the up wind side when I remove the gas cap, the fumes :frown: can't be all that healthy either...
