Where does the hose for the carb insulator go? The Chiltons manual claims to go back to 1970 but they excluded my beloved F engine in the vacuum diagram section. Thanks!

PCV valve?

Forgive me im a newbie, but my 40 had a weber and im converting it back to factory...I looked and I dont see anything that has a hose on the back side of engine on passenger side. The only two hoses I see I think are heater hoses... Where is the PCV vavle and what does it look like on my 72? Thank you

Ok, I think I found the PCV vale on the front side of the crank case passenger front. There was a hose going from it to the back side of intake, so I unhooked it. Now its pulling air from that port! What do I hook up to it!?! I just seems to never stop...

The PCV hose goes from the right side of the engine to the carburetor plenum (spacer made of Bakelite that sits between the intake manifold and carburetor). You may need to replace it, should be a few bucks at the local auto parts store. There should be a mark as to the direction of flow, and once you install it, get the hoses on and clamped it should be fine.

Ahh...the plot sickens...so the PCV hose went to the back side of the intake (manifold?)...maybe to where the brake booster vacuum hose would be? do you have a brake booster? If not, just plug that hole in the manifold. You know what? Pics might help here.

I am going to try and post some pics, but in the meantime my brake booster is hooked up to the intake manifold. I looked on SoR and is looks like there should be a plug where the PVC used to hook up, so I purchased a plug from them since it will now be pulling vacuum from the insulator...Thanks, if this does not sound right please let me know...

Here is a link to a photo I took several weeks ago of my 9/72 FJ40 with F engine.

This is a link:

Type F Engine

As you can see, the hose from the PCV valve goes to a port near the bottom of the carb. Forgive my terminology as I am a newbie also! The carb is a two barrel stock.
