Hi there all

I have posted a link to outerlimits site - where theres been alot of discussion of Toyota bringing out a new model cruiser - which is powered by a 3.7 lt V8 Diesel bi turbo.

Part of the conversation states some of these vehciles are already in Australia?

Any one else heard about this? - only thing for sure only time will tell.

PS its roumored they are going to drop the 6 cylinder range?

I would be very surprised(and disapointed) if they dropped the 6cyl diesel from the 70 series.
I would guess the 100/130 series will have the v8 1st while the 70 series retains the 6 cyl and mavbe gets the V8 as an option down the track.

If past history is anything to go by Toyota always keep their old engines in production while a new one is being accepted by the public .eg the 1FZ ,3F
If any 6 cyl gets the chop it will be the 1 FZ from the 79/105 series

There is a good chance they have them in Australia for roadtests. They have in the past had long disatnce circuits in the outback maybe 200klms long where they drive them non stop for weeks on end only stopping to refuel and change drivers. What a job;)

Could that be the engine that shows up in the full size pickup in North America? That blue Toyota looks like it could possibly be the front end of a P/U...

Its rumoured that the styling for the 130 has been done in the US by the same group that styled the FJCruiser/Tundra so its plausble they have carried it onto the pickup.
A lot people reckon the currant model Hilux and Prado share similarites in the front end .

The engine is supposed to be 2x 4cyl C diesels joined at the crank.

Here is the article from an aussie mag last year in english but you may have to save it and resize to read it.
