Very cool man. Very cool.

WOW I forgot how windy it was taking the video on kenny's climb. Looked a liitle grainy too. Maybe next time I'll get a better vid for you since you'll be bringing the 100 next year too. :)

Cool stuff J. Thanks for having the balls to take the 100 for all of us :D

I think it is even more hillarious that after the pics of "Shotts breaking in the parking lot" you ran golden spike and fins and things WITHOUT changing the wounded CV. That must be a little more over-engineered part than most have been giving it credit for.

It was also awesome for Robbie and CDan to step up like that. True cruiserheads huh?

Where's those breaking pictures located? I wanna see cuz I posed for one of them making a really sad face. :D

Way to go John, hopefully now the 100 can finally get its props from the disbelievers :)

Those look awesome! Thanks for continuing to carry the 100 torch!

Hell no, he went home before he could run Hells Revenge with me. :D That is after my chit broke on Poison Spider.

That was a great decision to leave early. That way I didn't have to watch you break again on Hells. :D
Seriously now.....there's no way I was going to ask Robbie to swap that CV out unless it broke. That's why we left early.....it was knocking pretty good. The last 100 miles home the thing drove like it had all 4 wheels out of balance. JUST made it.

well, congrats on John for having the guts to take it up there. Now, it earned its nice mods.

As far as I could tell from the outside, seemed like the 100 could go where the 80s went. In fact, didn't seem like it was struggling any more than the 80s. Not sure what would have transpired without lockers, though. John, did you try any serious obstacles unlocked?

Oh, and John, you might want to check the sliders and their attachment. On the obstacle just before Gary's rig broke down, your sliders were flexing in quite a bit when you were sitting on them. I was looking at them and thought they were hitting the sheetmetal. Seemed like they flexed in much more than what I saw on the 80s.

Glad you went!

THANKS!
Yes, the 100 seemed to handle the crud very much like the 80's....well, except the few that had tall lifts. They had the clearance to do that one tall ledge.
I actually drove most of the trail with my center unlocked. Even then the traction control rarely activated. I ran open like that because of the bad CV joint as it makes it much easier to turn.
On the medium climbs I locked the center, on the harder climbs I locked the rear too, on the nasty climbs I locked both because Robbie and Christo both said that if I lift a wheel and then drop it the CV could burst. I played it safe on those lines (locked the front maybe 5 times on Spike?).

ALSO: THANKS on the slider info. I bet they are not fully tight. I recently banged my 80 slider to the body as it was loose. I've never re-tightened them since I installed them (dumb ass I am).

Cool pics shotts! Must've taken alot of time photoshopping all of those, 'cuz we know a poser IFS rig like that could never handle a logging road, much less going off road! ;)
I loved the commentary by your wife on the Golden Spike vid :D .

HEE HEE...she obviously missed the front wheel lift. Gotta luv her though. She's my Toyota 100000-Series! :D

poor gal had to get out of the truck 5 million times to take photos.... (or was it that she was worried about the driver...? :D )

Good show out there John! Too bad I couldn't make it this year. I'm here in California, and we wrenched like crazy to get my rolled FZJ-80 done... powder-coated the rollbar, painted the roof and doors and hood, put in the winches and fuel tank and drive shafts and sliders and bumpers... but we had problems with the brakes going to the floor too much.

See ya next time though!
