I know everyone says they hate to sell their 40 series. I really do not want to sell mine at ALL. I love it and have been building it for a couple of years now. Ive done all the work and fabrication myself. So there is a part of me in ths cruiser. I have been a hard core enthusiast since I bought my first one in 1999. This one I intended to keep as a family heirloom to be passed down to my kids. That being said, I have just been handed a financial opportunity that I cant pass up. I am doing everything I can to make that happen without selling my beloved, so this is my plan B.

Its still in process, so let me tell you what I have done
Engine is a 2F out of an 83' 60 series. Headers, Desmogged, all new exhaust. Runs really nice No issues at all. So it has the high torque starter and clutch fan. I put a trollhole carb on it. Has a hand throttle (not hooked up) 3 core alluminum radiator. Ive driven it in the dead heat of the summer in the desert pulling a trailer and it stays cool. Period. 4 speed transmission from a 76' fj40 shifts smooth. Mini truck power steering conversion. 33 X 10.50 BFG KM2's installed 3 months ago, so nearly new with matching spare On stock steelies. New battery 3 months ago. 1st year of power dual circut brakes. New front brake shoes and a couple new wheel cylinders a couple others just rebuilt (needs rear shoes) Heavy duty high clearance custom front bumper with D rings, winch mount, push pads, nice tow bar, and reciever. Dual OEM rear swing outs. I built a cooler rack with a hi-lift mount which bolts to the OEM spare tire rack. I will include the original tire mount as well incase you want to run dual spares. Combination pintle hitch with 2" ball, wired with 7 pin AND 4 pin. Wires ran for power lead. 22 Gal. Aux tank with skid plate, OEM filler frenched in to match, and OEM sending unit not wired in to guage yet, but can be with a combination switch. (Its on the list) Rear sill has been cut out and replaced (still have a little clean up to do there as well as the rocker panels) New dash cap. Custom family cage using OEM hoops outside the LONG angled jump seats. Forward hoop even with B pillar. custom dash grab bar. Has the 3 piece bench up front with head rests. center back rest has been modded to fold down for an arm rest if desired. Ive got a set of half doors that still need completed that I will throw in. Also a full length family Bikini top. OEM FST drop down tail gate :) Alternator was recently rebuilt. Lots of little things, Like Mirrors & arms, sun visors, radio antenna, seat belts, defrost tubes, window felts rubber and sweep, etc.

Everything works electrically except reverse light. Havent traced that one down yet. I lean towards the stock look with patina so It still has the original paint. It needs upholstery, a few little things, Like weather stripping and a headliner, some cosmetic attention. I have focussed mainly on mechanical up to this point and it is sound. I drive it every day and wouldn't hesitate to drive it ANYWHERE. Id like $8000 and first opportunity to buy her back :)

Thats a great question and one Id rather not answer. ;) Previous owner installed the moonroof. It does drip a bit. I havent taken it apart yet to seal it properly.
