I have a problem and that's every time I unlock my 2000 Lc the alarm goes off. I just replaced the lock motors because they were weak, all of the locks work great and fully lock/ unlock. But my keyfob does not work right after that. I cant lock the doors with the key but I can unlock it; however, unlocking it sets off the alarm before I open the door. The Original key stopped working a few years back and I bought a key from eBay paired it and haven't had a problem with it so I am sure its not a bad eBay key. Does anyone know what could cause this? (Lock on the key does not work) (Unlock unlocks and sets off the alarm/horn) I also tried repairing the key multiple times the last week and it wouldn't go into pairing mode. Also I unhooked the battery overnight to reset the car. The only thing I can think of is the rear passenger door lock might be slightly off, but It locks and unlocks fine so I don't think its an issue.

Just saw this post and thought I'd bump it with a similar problem as I dive down the rabbit hole of key fob issues. Maybe both of us can get some help.

My '98 LX was in for paint, and they disconnected the main battery for 3.5 weeks. Now that I have it back, my key still starts the car and can manually unlock with a turn (same as you) but cannot manually lock with a turn (same as you). If I manually unlock it, the alarm goes off. I can only get the alarm to stop by turning the key in the ignition. The buttons on my fob all work, as in, signals are received from the car, but if the doors are locked, the unlock button on the fob does not work, and if the doors are unlocked, the lock button on the fob doesn't work.

My original assumption was that there was some wire harness that was unplugged by the door or fusebox while it was in for paint. However, speaking with the shop indiciated that not much was unplugged, but that the disconnected main battery might have been the culprit.

I have a master fob and a regular key. Neither have ever had issues over the ~8 years I've owned the LX or the keys. Both keys have always unlocked and locked the doors without setting off the alarm, and the buttons on my fob have always unlocked, locked, and controlled the alarm.

I do have Techstream, but I have not done anything with keys before. Hoping someone can swoop in and set us both straight here. Thanks!

It might be 10 years from now 🤣. I was messing around with my rear passenger door and it looks like it unlocked 99% of the way and might have set off the computer. So I was messing around with that. It worked for 30 minutes and is back to how it was before. I also tried to program my keys by locking it and unlocking 5 times etc. And it didn't set the vehicle into programming mode. Not sure why but it didn't and won't. Hope you figure out your problem. I know on my Nissan it won't let me lock the car with the key twisting it. I have to use the button to lock the car and it will unlock by twisting. Not sure about the buttons, because it sounds like it's sending signals and the car is picking them up sometimes. I don't think the cars will let us manually twist the key and lock it and I know sometimes it will set off the security alarm if you manually unlock it. But your key fob is definitely a problem. Let me know if you can figure it out lol.
