I just pulled the trigger on a full rebuild and super charger install from slee in golden colorado on March 17th. Im getting a new shortblock from toyota and having the top remaned. so im trying to figure out what all to sell, be it just the short block or sell the long block as a whole thing. The core deposit on the top is 250 so. This will be professionally removed by slee from my 1997 fzj80 Land Cruiser with 346,338 miles. Includes head (or not at your preference, valve cover not included with top). Engine runs good… no knocking. i will take a video of the truck running at idle later. Engine has been working with out any issues, but with the super charger and the discontinuation of parts for our beloved 80 series it was time to invest and rebuild. This is an attempt to recoup some cash.
Let me know what you think is a good price. I was thinking around 1000 - 750 for the long block and 750-500 for just the short, OBO. Buyer is responible for shipping which would be around 200 ontop of the price or minus the 200 if local pick up. Slee will palate/crate the engine when it comes out for pickup or shipping. The radiator will also be available from this truck. ill start another add for that.

Your market may very but just some data points to compare to. I sold a running motor with almost half as many miles (190) for 400 a few years ago but had the valve cover and all accessories but the power steering pump and even a Toyota installed HG at 109k. I think my price was low but yours seems high for that many miles.

There are two 1fz's for sale localish to me with 209 and 255k miles. Both are complete and asking 750.

Thanks for the reply. I have never tried to sell an engine and really have no idea really even where to start in pricing. seems my initial pricing points are off a bit. I would def rather sell it cheaper and see it used then see it tossed. Im into any reasonable offers as this engine is coming out the 17th and slee wont hold it for ever. Thanks again

$150 takes the short block in denver area if not local add shipping of around 200. Going with the core deposit on the head and getting it remachined so just the short block if anyone is interested. Will be on a pallet come monday, lmk.
