Just got back from taking the Usal rd to a really cool beach , its pretty minor but was my new ( to me ) Lx's maiden voyage... the scenery was outstanding !

Its sooo worth it , even though its only open about 5 miles in ... the rest is still closed from slides after the rains we had this year ... but still so worth it to at least get here !
Took my 80 down there about 5 years ago! Highly recommend it! Some bush pilot buzzed us on the beach about 100 ft away! Have footage on my old camera, need to dig it up!
I'd love to take my kids and my 80 there as well...soon.....maybe sometime this month

Camping at that beach, fishing , hiking ,relaxing ... saying " Ahhhh" alot !
Google Lost Coast and Usal rd. It's basically can be hit 3 ways, but I came in from the south off Hwy 1 north of Ft. Bragg, north of westport ... and as you start to go into the trees a lil bit , theres 2 signs that say 4x4, etc. , but no sign that says Usal rd. but it is aka rd 431...
I keep intending to go there, even if just to say that I've found/seen the Lost Coast.

I love that place...
Me too ... will be back up there this summer ...
We camp at westport every year( killer coastside campground) and then you can take a day trip to the lost coast and pack a lunch!

I camped at westport 15 yrs ago in my old yota... slept in the back of the truck ... its was chilly but I agree , a really nice spot ! wish I would have known about Usal back then ...

If you look in the upper right of the pic , the 2 black shapes in the water are probably Great White Sharks ! could be Grey Whales , but knowing where this is , it's notorious for White Sharks ... just happened to notice ...don't want to go off the road here ... it's a Lonnnng way down ...
