  1. 70 Series
Looking for a diesel setup with a motor like the 4200cc 1HD without electronic fuel injection. 2 door or 4 door is fine. Open to manual or automatic. Condition is really what I am looking for and a mechanical fuel injection with 4x4 and front and rear lockers.

Looking for the AK47 equivalent of 4x4s lol

Thank you!

Quite a few in the classifieds that meet most of your conditions.

@Willis has a nice one

The best you will find will be in the classifieds here, if you are just shopping in the US. The downside of the 70 series search process, IMO, is that they are so tough, they are often beaten to near death, but they won't die. This makes it tough to separate a true gem from a pig with lipstick.
Get to know the seller and their history with the truck (build threads, etc), and, be prepared to spend a bit (seems like you get that part).
LHD vs RHD is a big price jump. Non turbo 1HZ vs the direct injected turbo engine choices also make a big $$ difference. So a good fixer upper 7x series will be from sub-10k to the 20's and will need lots of baseline/restoration/upgrades-big $$. Break up over 30k and on to 50+ + + and get into some really good ones. If this is your all around truck, it is still cheaper than anything new. I can't recommend one enough, even though mine give me fits sometimes (fixer upper stuff)

Thank for the input. I have a 2023 4runner at the moment and it’s pretty nice but way too much tech, way too much I can’t change and would rather have the vehicle that can be filled up on crap fuel and still drive.

A 5th gen 4runner is pretty tough to top, but a good 70 series would probably do it, if you don't mind crazy simple. The other huge problem is rust or potential for it. Would take a lot to prep for winter, but can be done.

This might be your best bet. lockers, 1hz with lockers and an honest seller that lists the issues.
