Where to all you USA based 70 series owners buy parts from?

EBAY?

I have a newly aquired HJ75 and trying to figure out the most reliable source for parts, staring with
the basics...fuel/air/oil filters, belts, ect.

I bought tie rods on ebay, but they shipped me wheel studs (waiting to hear back from vendor) so my first go was pretty disappointing.

Cheers!

Cruiserdan , Beno, Akella, Can-Am Cruisers just to name a few.
If you let the 70 Series crowd (well more like a small gang) know what you are looking for, I'm sure someone will point you in the right direction.

Looks like SOR sells a bunch of 70 series parts as well.

For right now I'm looking for the basics:

air/fuel/oil filters
full set of belts
tie-rod/drag link kit
2H diesel factory manual
glow plugs

There are a number of vendors, many who support 'MUD, that can help you. The ones I mentioned above are just a few who have access to parts.
Good luck.....

As Charles and others have indicated, there are multiple reliable sources which many have already been listed. What parts you need can offer even more options. For example; on the basics [filters/belts/brakes/bulbs/hoses ...], I pick this up at my local NAPA store. They can cross reference most part numbers (Toyota or aftermarket) and then pull from their inventory. To illustrate this; the brake shoes, rotors, drums and pads on my BJ70 are identical to those used on North American spec 60 & 62 series trucks, plus the late production 40's (Aug'81 and on) so they are readily available via NAPA and many other reliable parts outlets. A final thing I like about my local NAPA store is that they will work with me to find what I need in their inventory. When I replaced the heater hoses on my truck, I brought in my factory hoses to NAPA. Many were molded and non-standard outside Toyota, but they took my hoses into the back and found stock hoses that fit the factory contours. Once home, I would trim NAPA hoses per the original. This saved me more than half the cost the hoses would have cost buying from Toyota without any loss in form/fit/function.

Good luck and enjoy your truck.

Most of the parts interchange with 60 series so should be pretty easy to source

This is true for everything pretty much below the body.

Body parts, electrical, glass, HVAC, and in many cases, engine, will be completely different than the FJ60 that arrived in the States.

That said, parts are readily available in the US for most of the non-US engine.

Especially 1HZ's.

I've heard that but it's difficult to cross reference part numbers...
I use http://www.japan-parts.eu. To look up part numbers and to check them against 60 series numbers to verify. For non-USA parts, I start with Cruiser Addiction and/or Amayama for OEM parts and others that have been listed for aftermarket.

Way to rub it in for those of us impatient enough not to wait for 1HZ trucks to get old enough. ;)

Are you trying to say my 2H is not "state of the art"? :)

Well, I don't think the piece of automotive art under the bonnet of your 75 can remotely be called stock. So no :)

its a bit ironic my 70 cruisers got an lq4 chevy so most of my parts I end up having to source from the US

despite all 70 series parts being available over here I still buy a lot of mechanical parts out of Oz it works out a lot cheaper and only takes 7-10 days to ship

In the immortal words of Schultz.... "I know nothing!!"

That said, I'll be buying parts, well, from myself.

:)
I guess I'll just have to look for a change in avatar to know when you start buying more parts from yourself ;)
