Hi Everyone – Sorry I forgot to send out the reminder email last week about our upcoming OHV Work Day on Saturday, February 29th. We’ll meet at 9 am at Uwharrie Hunt Camp and head out from there. We will be installing a new ATV ramp at Falls Dam TH and repairing the top of the one at Art Lilley Campground/TH. We’ll also repair several sections of the wooden guide rail fencing along Dutch John Road near the RML bridge and at the Dutch John TH. If we have time & the people we’ll also fix fencing that was damaged by trees that came down on RML Trail.
Please if there is anyone that has a trailer that can go on the roads and trails to move the timbers for the fencing please bring it. Also, if you’re chainsaw certified by the Forest Service bring your chainsaw, chaps & other safety gear & proper safety clothing as we’ll use chainsaws to do the fencing repair. Other work we’ll do this weekend is marking and numbering the trail & picking up trash. Please bring water, food, wear closed toe shoes, long pants, and have long sleeves and sunglasses, etc. If you have drills and tools to put the fencing together bring them too. Brock & Rodney built the wooden frame of the ATV ramp so we’ll be filling it up with the gravel. We’ll provide the shovels & gravel.
We’ve had several new clubs and a couple of old clubs send in their Trail Adoption and volunteer agreements. If your club hasn’t done that yet but is planning on doing so you can bring your filled out and signed forms this weekend and turn them in to us. If you have a member roster for the club please bring that too or email it to me. Thanks a lot for your help.
