Hi guys,
I am back again from a period without LC.
I’ve read the post about different devices for streaming music to my 08 without aux.
Is there any new gadgets for providing me this without costing a fortune?

Regards, Klas

Welcome back. I remain and AUX-iophile, but I did just order this to get myself into the 2010's. Forward to the Past! Will report on performance, but other '08'ers have had good experiences. If it works out, I will hard-wire and hide under dash cladding.

Aah! I see!
But I am not sure if I really have a USB port nor a 3,5 mm outlet on mine?
It says P8606 on the radio🤔

I have used both the Tunai dongle and GROM Vline for Apple Carplay on my 2008 LX.

Tunia:
Pros: Best audio quality, specifically low-bass given it is BT5.0
Cons: Dongle sticks out of center console unless you hard-wire it; no steering wheel control

VLine:
Pros: Steering wheel control; uses factory head-unit to display Apple CarPlay; hidden behind dash
Cons: BT4.0 meaning, less bass (quality is still ok), but not as "full" of sound; Carplay crashes 2x a week

I have the Tunia too. You really don't notice it as its plugged into the cig lighter port and the aux port is an inch or so away.

The thing is that there is no aux in front of the gear shifter. There is no aux. At all. At least what I have found…

I didn't realize there were versions of the '08 w/out AUX. From my manual on my '08:

I use Grom VLine2 and I run USB into the unit for CarPlay. It's flawless.
Do you have any more info on the exact model and installation?😬
To be clear. I don’t have any aux outlet. At least I cant find it!
So it has to be connected to the rear of the stereo…

srsly. You learn something new every day. I am beginning to think Mr. T slipped in all kinds of parts-bin versions on the quiet during the early years.

Go to this website and enter your model info: USB Android iPhone Bluetooth Car Kits | Navigation CarPlay Android Auto Systems - https://gromaudio.com/

Grom has a 200 install video that has most of what you need. The video shows the need to splice wires, etc., but their new hardware is all plug and play.

Regarding the USB cable, I simply plug my phone into the back of the Grom unit through the cigarette lighter.

My GROM VLine2 install if helpful.

based on the fact that you don’t have crawl control either and you are in Sweden, you must have a lower optioned LC that the USA didn’t get. throw up a shot of your dash. I wonder if you have a model with out integrated climate. If so, you could probably slap in any aftermarket stereo.

I have been using a Coolstream CarPro 30-pin Bluetooth adapter for years without any issues to simply stream audio and retain functionality of the steering wheel controls. It looks like they ceased operations so you can't purchase it anymore. That being said, there are other 30-pin Bluetooth adapters which may work, assuming of course that you have a 30-pin cable in the glovebox.

I also came across this search, but at the moment I haven't decided to install anything
