Don't know about magic but the work has started. I would like to have it road worthy by the Christmas party but that isn't possible. Look for it at the Relic Run early 2019.

FedEx Santa Claus showed up today in a U-Haul rent-a-truck. Tires and wheels to replace the bald eagles on the camping trailer and wheels to match the 40. Photos tomorrow. The change begins.

That thing is awesome! I’d love to do something like this with an older military trailer, or if I could man up spring over the 60 I could use a new style one.

If you get rid of the old RTT to help fund the new one let me know I might be able to help with that. :)

A newer RTT is on the radar for early March. I want one with an annex for extra guests and a changing room. Come by and take a look, I'm sure we can strike up a deal.

That’s what I was originally looking for but my wife doesn’t seem to interested in taking all the kids out in a rtt don’t blame her but my son really wants to so now I just gotta fit me and him and probably my daughter when we wants to go.

Sounds good I’ll shoot you a pm and see what we can figure out.

Step one and two; one, rid the trailer of those hideous stickers, DONE. Two, install the new tires and wheels. DONE. (I bought 15 x 8 wheels and 31 x 10.5 tires and I almost regret not going with 10 x 15 wheels and 31 x 12 tires. Oh well, to late now.)

As a side note, my back yard where the trailer was parked is so wet it is almost like a swamp and I had to use 4WD just to get out. Working in the car port on a hard surface is so much easier than trying to work on the wet ground.

Tomorrow, step three, finish wiring the 40 for the trailer lights and electric brakes.

With the spare tire on the back the trailer is a little heavy in the rear so I think that sometime this winter I will take it to a trailer shop and have the tongue lengthened by a foot or so. Then add an additional storage bin where the RTT is and raise the RTT by 8 to 12" higher to allow for the annex room then relocate the water tank to under the trailer just below where it currently is.

Opinions and suggestions accepted.

For the additional shortage where the RTT is right now are you thinking a place you can put removable storage bins or another with a similar door to just open and access?

What made you want to move the tank? Room for the arb?

I was thinking of additional storage space with doors to hold tables and chairs as other essentials then put the RTT on top of that. As far as the water tank goes, at 28 gallons it is roughly 224 pounds full and the lower it is the lower the center of gravity will be and will allow space where it resides now for other things. Trying to keep some heavy stuff as low as I can.

Ahhh ok make sense I should have connected that first about it being heavy.

Very nice I’m looking at building a box for the 60 our of aluminum t slot to do the same for our camping gear.

So something like this but with a door vs the drawers?

how large of a tongue box are you looking for? I've got a uws 48 x 24 x 20 alum locking box. would hold plenty of stuff and not be too heavy

Thanks Steve. Already have a tongue box, just planning to have the tongue lengthened. The additional storage box will be for under the RTT when I raise it up.
