Came across an item in the service history paperwork in glove box that I had previously overlooked. “Customer requested front bumper be replaced due to damage”. Now I’m assuming maybe he bumped into something or someone because it’s the only thing noted to replace. But I was inspecting and noticed a wiring harness not connected. Anyone know what this is? I can’t seem to notice any missing functionality. It’s on the driver side. Any wisdom is much appreciated.

I believe that’s the front parking sensors.

Seems to come towards me and then splits to both passenger and driver side directions.
I don’t seem to be able to engage the fog lights unless I’m doing it wrong. Possibly those then?
Your assessment is correct.
So connect it and see what it does. Airbags are distinct yellow connectors which that is not. Besides you’d see a code/MFL for airbags.

I believe so. But I can’t decide the best way to get to it. No easy way to access it.

I think you can undo a few of the clips holding the front bumper on under the main, front section of the undercarriage. Then you can possibly pry that open and snake a hand up there to return the plug. Had to do something similar to check a leak on the washer fluid bottle on a 13, not sure if anything changed on the 16.
Best way to get to it is the remove the black panel covering the area between the grill and the radiator. You can then reach down and reconnect it.

As others said, parking sensors and fog lights. Yes the white lever engages and locks the connector in place. It most likely has dirt collected inside it, so it would be smart to clean out both sides before connecting. I’d try to find a natural hair detailing brush and use compressed air or canned duster to blow it out.
Access should be easy from the top panel. There are 7 plastic clips that you push the center down and they can be pulled up with the panel. Then push the whole clip against a hard surface and the center button will pop out, put them back in place and make the center button flush again to lock in place. Note that those clips age from heat and the tabs on them break often. I can look up the part number if you just want to have new ones on hand.
