TC44449 Universal Dash Mount by Cobra

Adhesive "button" sticks to back of any radio or light-weight item. U-shaped mount sticks to dash/wall/file cabinet with included adhesive or two screws (not included). Radio swivels 180' and does not lock in place. Combines well with TCMICROCLIP-BK belt clip.

Anyone know where I can pick a few of these up in the OC. I've tried MAR-VAC, HRO and Radio Shack so far?

Online at Cobra perhaps? Haven't checked it they've got a store online. Uniden does. Clay's Radio out of Texas carries a lot of CB stuff. Neither in the OC tho.

Thanks Brent. I can't find it on Cobra's site. I have an online source, they're $3.90 each but shipping is $9.90. Larry at Dirty Parts has them too but he's in LA. I'll just have him bring a few to BorregoFest.

Can't figure out what they're for? Clips for the mic? If so - pick up two for me! I've got a mess of mic's on my center console with two of them! If Larry has them, and that's what they are for, I'll stop by his place on the way to SnT.

Yep Brent they are for a mic or for hanging small radios. I use 5 of them right now for a couple sets of FRS radios, a CB mic and need a couple more for a hand held HAM and mic.

I may need to stop and see Larry then on the way to SnT. Right now my two mic's (CB and Ham) just lay on the center console. It would be nice to be able to hang them, but I haven't wanted to put screw holes anywhere on the dash to use the supplied metal clips.

I got mine at the Truck stop at the 395 exit off of the 15. But the adhesive doesn't stay. My mic already had the little button on it so I just got the U shaped holder and mounted it to the front of my cup holder just behind the e-brake but it falls off all the time. Now that I am sure I am going to keep it there I am going to use some 3M glue that I used to mount my Iron Pig emblems on my fenders.

I picked up a bunch of those for my old Xterra at Pep Boys. I used them to mount my cell phone and talkabouts on the inside of the center console. They worked great, even in pretty intense heat.

OH! And I recently (like, last six months) saw them for sale at my local car wash in Woodland Hills, in the "cell phone accessory" section of the attached mini-market. I'll check for you, and if I see them, I'll pick some up and PM you.

And I'm pretty sure I saw them at the car wash on the corner of Foothill and the 210 Fwy. in La Verne (or Glendora), at the Mobil Station...the big one with the Taco Bell inside, across the street from Frank Gehry-inspired Denny's.

Try Solder Joint in Orange. They supported our Socal 80's Toys 4 Tots toy drive last year.

Thanks Dave sounds like a good place to check out.

Try the red 3M 2 sided tape. I use it for everything and if the surface is clean it sticks really good.

Pep Boys, that's probably where I'll find them thanks. No need to pick them up, thanks though! :) I need em' for this weekend.

Thanks guys!!

I'll check out my local Pep Boys as well.

Brent, I stopped by my local Pep Boys in Costa Mesa and they didn't have them. :frown:

I did find the coolest 8 LED plug in play dome light replacement kit I have ever seen. It comes with five different dummy lights that you choose from and install it in place of your old light. Each dummy light has a connector that attaches to your 8 LED wafer. I did the install on my rear cargo dome light in under 5 minutes. They are bright.

$19.95 for the kit

Wish they had red LED's for the front dome.

Also found some single batt. operated LED's for my drawers. Twist to turn on off. I used my 3M doubled sided tape to mount them. Very bright.
$3.99 a pair.

I'll shoot some pics tonight.

I may still check the Pep Boys here in Aliso Viejo - It's twice as big as the one in Costa Mesa (the one on Bristol).

Brent-

I found a couple at the Pep Boys in Orange. These are smaller and have inferior tape thn the Cobra model. I would get them from Larry or you will need to add better tape as I did. FYI the slide button from my Yaesu VX170 is too wide for any of the clips, Cobra or Pep Boys so I had to change the button and use the one from the kit as well as the matching belt clip that came with the Pep Boys kit.
